About Us

We are a Christian Church located in Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland and as such form part of God’s worldwide church.

We are Church of Ireland, and we endeavour to live according to our biblically based faith, which is set out in what we call “The 39 Articles of Faith”.

Holy Trinity is part of the Church of Ireland and we are part of the Diocese of Connor.

We meet each Sunday at 10:30 am for worship, teaching from the bible and fellowship.

You will find a warm welcome, a friendly and engaging group of people, of all ages and backgrounds each Sunday.

Our Story

Holy Trinity first opened its doors on the 6th December 1992. St. Nicholas’ Church, one of the oldest parish churches in all Ireland, built Holy Trinity on land bequeathed by the late Miss Henly of Prospect House.

A small number of families were asked to leave St. Nicholas’ and go to form the nucleus of the new congregation. The congregation grew over the following 8 years and on Easter Day 2000 Holy Trinity Woodburn gained parish status. God has continued to bless Holy Trinity and we would love for you to experience that blessing with us.

Our People

Alan has been the lead minister in Holy Trinity for 29 years, 25 as rector. He is married to Janet and they have one daughter, Taylor. He has a passion for teaching the Bible. Alan enjoys time in the countryside with his dogs and is a fervent Liverpool FC supporter. He is also chaplain to Carrick Rangers FC and 2062 RAF Cadets in Carrickfergus.
